ARIZONA CULINARY INSTITUTE PROUDLY CELEBRATES CONSTITUTION DAY
As the Labor Day holiday fades into our rear view mirror, here at Arizona Culinary Institute, we now joyfully celebrate Constitution and Citizenship Day, September 17, commemorating the formation and signing of the U.S. Constitution in Philadelphia on September 17, 1787 (Happy 228!!!), recognizing all who, are born in the Unites States or by naturalization, have become citizens.
As we celebrate Constitution and Citizenship Day in 2015, the words of Benjamin Franklin still resonate in his words at the end of the Constitutional Convention:
“I hope … as part of the people … that we shall act heartily and unanimously in recommending this Constitution … and turn our thoughts and endeavors to the means of having it well administered.”
Here at ACI, we proudly support the Department of Education’s mission and the power of equity in education, which can indeed change lives by helping to ensure that all students have the opportunity to achieve their highest potential.
As we enter another presidential campaign season, whether you support Trump, or Hillary, or any candidate in between, awareness of the U.S. Constitution is more important than ever, and a basic knowledge of our Constitution helps to evaluate the promises made by candidates and what “We the People” want from our government.
In honor of this momentous occasion, ACI encourages everyone to reflect on the Preamble – one of the most famous passages in the history of the written word!
